'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League homecoming

Kane achieves his 100th goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his enthusiasm in coming back to the Premier League has diminished and he is willing to negotiate a new contract with Bayern Munich.

The prolific striker is at the moment two years through the four-year deal he agreed to when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for 86.4 million pounds in the offseason of 2023.

The experienced forward has scored an impressive 103 goals in 106 games for the German club, playing a key role in them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the first major achievement of his distinguished career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would be pleased to see Kane return to England, where he lacks 48 goals to overtake Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England skipper has now clarified that he is no longer as enthusiastic about returning home as he once was, and would seriously contemplate lengthening his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could definitely see that," he remarked.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be open to talk and have an straightforward conversation.

"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so unfolds and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not considering about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different periods happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the record top marksman for both Tottenham and England and recently became the fastest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the milestone in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had avoided him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would feel after breaking his trophy wait, but now thinks it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be easy to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I pushed myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Continued success with Bayern Munich stays Kane's top focus
  • The option of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
